Dallas, TX (Top40 Charts/ Big Noise Communications) - JustCoolMusic.com, a boutique record label and production company, is proud to announce that recording artist Jon Christopher Davis has been selected as the winning songwriter for the National Relay For Life Music Contest. The American Cancer Society, the nation's largest voluntary health organization, will be using the inspirational song for internal and external promotion of Relay For Life nationwide.

Mr. Davis' winning entry, entitled 'Relay For Life,' serves as a banner to those carrying the 'never surrender to cancer' torch. 'Relay For Life' was one of many entries submitted across the country from a wide variety of singer-songwriters. The American Cancer Society will be featuring Davis' song on RelayForLife.org in the 'Song Suggestions' page for Relay for Life Ceremony songs, as well as on the Relay For Life podcast on iTunes.

'I am truly honored by this,' said Mr. Davis. 'Winning this contest is great, but I'm more excited about how the song can be used as a fund-raising tool for the American Cancer Society. I hope the song inspires people to keep up the good fight, because there is no finish line until we find a cure.'

Mr. Davis debuted the song at the Relay For Life of McKinney, TX last April. 'Originally, I was only going to perform a short concert with my band, Lone Star Attitude. After doing a little homework on the history of Relay For Life, I was moved to write and record a song for the event. It wasn't until several months later that I learned about the contest from a fan,' said Mr. Davis.

'We are so excited for Jon Christopher Davis to win the Relay music contest,' said Amy Feagin, Co-Chair of the ACS Relay For Life of McKinney 2011. 'When we first heard the song last year, we knew how special it was, and we are so excited that the rest of the nation will have the opportunity to hear his powerful voice and message.'

A download box, containing the song and a ringtone, can be easily embedded onto any Web site. 'The more sites that participate, the more money we can raise for the American Cancer Society,' said Mr. Davis. For more information, email [email protected].

When Mr. Davis is not doing voiceover work for companies, such as TXU Energy, or writing theme songs for organizations such as the new NBA D-League team, the Texas Legends, or G4S, the second largest private employer in the world, he fronts the popular corporate party band Lone Star Attitude (TheSoundOfTexas.com). With Lone Star Attitude, Mr. Davis has entertained the likes of the Texas Rangers, the Dallas Stars, ABC's Gloria Campos & Dale Hansen and former President George W. Bush. Most recently, he put the finishing touches on a new children's album in support of TX, the Lone Star Hero - an exciting new Texas character that will be publicly launched at the Dr. Pepper Arena in Frisco, TX on November 30th. The character and music have been developed to promote the Texas state motto of friendship to kids worldwide (TheLoneStarHero.com).

Before he moved to McKinney in 2004, Mr. Davis spent several years in Nashville writing songs for artists, such as Dolly Parton, Hal Ketchum, Tammy Cochran, Sherrie Austin, Billy Ray Cyrus and Timothy B. Schmit of the Eagles. The song, "Little Bird," which he wrote and is recorded by Sherrie Austin, peaked at number 4 on Billboard's Top Country Singles sales chart.

'Relay For Life' is now available on iTunes, Amazon.com and www.jonchristopherdavis.com.
