New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Derek Comley Official Website) - Derek Comley is quite simply one of the most innovative and promising young artists to crawl out of the subterranean depths of the American underground indie scene. Influenced by rock'n'roll, early punk, swing, dub, reggae, hip hop, surf, and latin influences, his music has been described as "Solid rock songs with elements of swing jazz played at the volume of old school punk...he mixes Tom Waits with John Lydon without coming off as artsy or uptight"-(Daryl Smyers DALLAS OBSERVER.)

The lyrics are insightful, clever, and socially conscious with a vocal delivery that is raw, emotional, and extremely engaging, never whiny or over the top. Joe Strummer, Iggy Pop, and Elvis Costello are obvious influences, as well as more polished crooners like Sam Cooke and early Bob Marley. On guitar he sounds like Dick Dale jamming with Frank Black and Elmore James and he pulls off rock, surf, punk, rockabilly, reggae, and latin sounding riffs without batting a lash.

The independently released, self-titled 13 song debut cd is available now on www.reverbnation.com If the music industry is smart, they'll snatch this guy up quick! but for now, Derek Comley and the bastard sons of Rock'n'Roll are unsigned and independent.
