Dallas, TX (Top40 Charts/ HDNet) - Saturday's debut of the new HDNet series "Naughty But Nice with Rob Shuter" will have a little something extra that no other program since "American Bandstand" can claim - a theme song written by the blockbuster, Grammy Award winning team of
Barry Manilow and Bruce Sussman.
"Naughty But Nice with Rob Shuter," is a new series hosted by one of the most widely read gossip columnists in the world. The new HDNet original program premieres Saturday, November 6 at 1:00 p.m. ET/PT with a same-day encore presentation at 7:00 p.m. ET/PT.
"I hope you like the theme song we wrote for Rob's show," said Barry Manilow, who also performs the song. "Because, knowing Rob as I do, you are going to be listening to it for a long time."
"In my career I have been fortunate to work with some remarkable talents who have achieved greatness in their respective fields - Dick Clark, Bette Midler, Dionne Warwick, Lily Tomlin, Barbara Cook, Academy Award-winning writer Ted Tally, Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Wendy Wasserstein ... and Barry, of course," said Bruce Sussman. "This kid is next."
"Naughty But Nice with Rob Shuter" combines cool cocktails with the latest celebrity news and is filmed at the hip and trendy restaurant, Rare, located inside New York City's Fashion 26 Hotel. The show also features candid interviews with all of today's most interesting celebrities. And, every week, one lucky celebrity will receive the "Nicest" award and one not-so-fortunate celeb will be named the "Naughtiest."
Before joining AOL's PopEater to pen his "Naughty But Nice" column - which has over 10 million unique hits a month - Rob Shuter was executive editor of OK! Magazine, which quickly became the country's fastest growing weekly magazine during his tenure. With Rob's help, the magazine sold its first-ever million selling issue breaking such exclusives as Jamie Lynn Spears' pregnancy, Britney's first post-meltdown interviews, Eva Longoria's wedding and worldwide exclusives of Jessica Alba, Tori Spelling and Matthew McConaughey's gorgeous tots. Additionally, Rob has represented some of America's biggest stars - including Alicia Keys, Sean Combs and Jon Bon Jovi. Before being hired by Jessica Simpson, someone told Rob that the decision to hire him would be entirely up to Simpson's Maltese, Daisy. He walked into that meeting with a pocketful of salami and got the job!
