NEW YORK (Inspired Broadcast Networks press release) - Inspired Broadcast Networks, the digital division of leisure giant, Leisure Link, and Entertainment UK, the Europe's largest music distributor are out to change the jukebox's market decline. Together they have built a jukebox that can instantly play any of over 2 million tracks.
The broadband enabled jukebox can also sell you the album or the ringtone and will ultimately be able to e-mail you the track. You can even pay an extra 50p to skip the play queue. The machine is also the first in the industry to play pre-released tracks and boasts 300 new tracks being added every day. The service also offers retailers a state-of-art background music system that allows them to schedule any track to play at any time.

Think of a jukebox and we all think of the classic Wurlitzer playing singles to happy pub goers. Sadly, in today's world, the CD jukebox is in major decline. For a modern consumer, accustomed to instant access to millions of the latest tracks from MTV, Napster and the iPod, the traditional juke's combination of terrible compilations and lack of new music does not compare. This has resulted in declining juke incomes and pub retailers scrapping in excess of 1,000 jukeboxes per year across the UK

Inspired's jukebox is not only good news for consumers and retailers but also for record labels and publishers who have seen their incomes from jukebox royalties decline over the last few years. Inspired and Leisure Link are now embarking on a multi million pound program to rollout thousands of machines over the next 24 months.

Norman Crowley of Inspired Broadcast Networks commented: "This is the most significant announcement to hit the music industry this year. We have spent a great deal of time researching the market place so we could launch a product that would change the way consumers listen to music outside of their homes. Our jukebox will give venue owners better ways to entertain their customers and will also increase revenue for the music industry."

Anthony Moore, Entertainment UK Strategy Director, added: "EUK is delighted to be involved with this exciting project to revitalize the jukebox market. The digital juke box is an excellent product that will help all sorts of people discover, play and buy more music."
