Stockholm, SWEDEN (Top40 Charts/ Aspiro Music) - Aspiro Music has received confirmation of the company being shortlisted for two prestigious international awards for its music streaming service, namely the World Summit Mobile Awards, and the ME Awards.

The World Summit Award (WSA) is a global award ceremony, initiated by the United Nations and UNESCO. The WSA Grand Jury is this week evaluating nominees from 160 member countries and the winners will be announced at a grand gala on December 6th in Abu Dhabi. The award was initiated in 2003, while 2010 is the first year of the WSA Mobile awards, selecting and promoting the best mobile content and innovative services.

Aspiro's Music streaming service has been elected by the Norwegian jury to be a contestant in the m-Entertainment & Lifestyle Category of the award.

The ME Awards, presented by Mobile Entertainment Magazine, rewards companies doing outstanding things in the mobile content space. The award, now into its fifth year, is handed out in London on November 18th. The winners will be decided by a judging panel, which is drawn from the ME contacts book and consists of around 400 executives from all sectors of the industry. Aspiro is nominated in the Best Music Service Provider category, alongside Shazam, Thumbplay, We7, Hungama and Spotify.

'We are encouraged to see that different parts of the industry acknowledge our efforts to provide a great music streaming service, and we will continue to focus on creating great experiences to enjoy and share music', says Per Einar Dybvik, Managing Director of Aspiro Music.
