Santa Monica, CA (Top40 Charts/ Stark Official Website) - STARK's lead singer and bassist Lani Ford is recovering nicely after having a torn ligament in her wrist repaired. Even though you would think she was having open heart surgery with her dramatics, Lani Ford of STARK is getting back in the groove after mostly minor wrist surgery that was mostly successful. She is eager to start playing bass and guitar again soon; but in the meantime, she is in the studio mixing solo acoustic tracks she laid down before the surgery. She plans to release a solo acoustic CD before the end of the year. She will return to the West Coast to play the 'nette radio showcase at Genghis Cohen November 18th. While out there, she will attend the Daisy Rock event November 19th and El Cid's open mic November 22nd. She will also play live with Craig Williams on KNAC November 21st and appear with Gary Garver again on Rock Me Tv.

STARK has been on a short break following their summer tour in the UK. Their latest CD Race To The Floor has been receiving international radio and internet airplay. The album, which is the band's third full-length studio release, is a total DIY project with engineering and mixing done by Joe Hogan (guitarist), artwork done by Eric Robel (drummer) and just about everything else handled by Ford (bassist and lead singer). The band plans to release and EP of new songs with a possible cover and live track in early 2011.

Hogan, Ford and music video director Joe Covino attended the New York International Independent Film and Video Festival ceremony in June to receive the award for Best Music Video of 2009 for 'OH NO!' STARK plans to make at least two new videos over the winter and spend time writing new songs.

Drummer Eric Robel will continue to play with STARK for the remainder of the year and for local gigs while the band continues to search for a new touring drummer. They are eager to continue their efforts for a Midwest tour to support their previous radio campaign and the new CD. The next two shows are in New York City. STARK will play Devils Night at Ace of Clubs with TSI and Atom Strange October 30th and Frank Wood's Birthday Week at Santos Party House November 9th. There will be notorious STARK gift bags at both shows.

STARK has a lot of new T-shirts, totes and other stuff you can get on their website. For a limited time, all new subscribers get a free download of the new album Race To The Floor. Check out the official website www.starknyc.com or www.myspace.com/stark.
