Knoxville, TN (Top40 Charts/ MyPRGuide) -
Music fans in the Knoxville area now have the chance to listen to their favorite local artists in an instant with KnoxvilleJukebox.com, a free website dedicated to promoting and supporting the Knoxville music and art scenes.
Knoxville Jukebox is the first live-streamed music website that features a customizable playlist of Knoxville artists. Designed like an actual jukebox, all local tunes are in one easy-to-access location, under the 'Listen' tab. Visitors to the site can search, add and delete songs to their playlist by clicking on the plus and minus icons to the right of song titles, and their selections will be saved for their return to the site.
'Supporting Knoxville music and art is a mission that the Knoxville Jukebox team is passionate about,' said Mac Bartine, curator of the site. 'Knowing the strength of Knoxville's music and art scenes, we wanted Jukebox to be a visually and technically exciting online destination that local artists would be proud to be a part of. I think we've achieved that.'
The site supports the Knoxville arts by providing top-quality free services to Knoxville-area bands, musicians, venues, artists and galleries. For bands and artists wishing to showcase their talent, Knoxville Jukebox offers a clear call-out - 'Get Noticed!' - that allows them to submit their information, and in musicians' case - their music - for inclusion on the site.
As part of its mission to support local arts, the site will also donate 20 percent of monthly revenue to local arts-related non-profits, starting with WUTK, 90.3 "The Rock" in the month of October.
"Anytime that WUTK can help get the word out about our local music and entertainment scene and help to provide more accessibility to both, we want to help make that happen,' said Benny Smith, Program Director at WUTK. 'Knoxville Jukebox is going to do just that, so we are happy to help raise awareness and excitement for this website. We don't call ourselves 'local music's best friend' for nothing, and we appreciate their support as well.'
