LONDON, UK (BBC/Radiohead Official Website) - Radiohead are to become BBC radio station bosses for a week! Members of Radiohead are set to take over BBC's digital service, Radio 6, during the Christmas holidays. Between December 22nd and 26th, the group will choose all the music and programming on the station. The band will take turns hosting Radio 6, with each member taking on a full day's worth of material. Each band member will help to shape a day's programming to give an insight into what makes them tick. They will have access to 7,000 artists to draw up their musical selections. Radiohead will be given full access to the BBC's archives and are expected to dig up some unusual and rarely-heard material. Also, the quintet will co-present shows, act as guests and choose music on the station between 22 and 28 December in a venture titled 'The 6 Music Selector'.
Fans outside of the UK are in luck, as all of Radio 6's broadcasts are available online (or satellite). It will be exciting for the listeners to see what Radiohead do with this creative freedom and what it reveals about the group's personal taste and influences. "It is going to be an extremely exciting and interesting Christmas week on 6 Music," John Sugar said (6 Music editor).
