NEW YORK (Top40 Charts/ RoadRunner Records) - New Jersey-based melodic metal crew Mutiny Within have just released a cover song originally created for Metal Hammer for stream, and the track? AC/DC's "Highway to Hell."
Bassist AJ Jacobs sheds some light on what went into the making of the song, telling Roadrunner: "We are really happy with the way this came out! Metal Hammer asked us to cover an AC/DC song, and having never recorded a cover before, we wanted to rise to the challenge and put our spin on an old classic.
"While obviously familiar with the song, it was still difficult to try and pick out everything that is going on. The bass lines have little tricks throughout, the vocal parts are sung in a very particular way, and we even noticed a slight tapping on the high hat pedal in the intro.
"After getting it all straight, we went into the song with two minds. We did the beginning as it was, even using the same Gibson SG that Angus Young used, and then we developed it into our style as the song progressed.
"We hope everybody enjoys the cover, we had a lot of fun with this!"
