Brooklyn, NY (Top40 Charts/ Niva Official Website) - Urban R&B Singer Songwriter Niva has released her debut CD 'Rollercoaster Love'. Along with the CD Niva has released a new music video about the realities of struggling in today's economy. Niva also known as 'Niva the Soul Diva' calls her new song and video 'food stamps'. The song deals with the mental and emotional toll of being homeless and hungry. Much of the song reflects Niva's own experiences in Houston,
Texas where at one time Nva had no where to live.
Niva stated, "All artists want to do is rap about how much swag they have and how much of a hustler they are, when the reality is that they are all one step away from scuffling for dimes and nickels. No one wants to rap or sing about real life."
The video was shot on the streets of Brooklyn, New York, near the department of social services on Bond street. The video was made to look simple and raw in order to depict real life. Many reviewers have compared Niva's voice to Beyonce, Solange Knowles and Adina Howard, but Niva feels they are all wrong.
Niva stated that she writes and sings about real life as well as dance music. Niva's debut CD 'Rollercoaster Love' also contains Niva's dance music and inspirational tracks. One of the special songs on the CD is called 'come on over'. Niva describes it as a sizzling hot love song ballad that lives up to the term 'baby making slow jam'.
Niva states, "If my 'come on over' song does not turn you on then you are ready for a nursing home."
Niva stated she would like to make more videos like "food stamps" with meaningful subject matter. Niva is hoping to partner with a label or management firm that wants to produce meaningful music. Niva stated, "I have so many ideas in my head for videos, I would love to have T.I. or 50 Cent or Trey Songz in my videos depicting the real life scenarios that happen every day to people living in the middle of poverty and ignorance."
Niva stated that she is looking forward to performing the song live with her band on various television shows. Niva said, "I want all of my friends and fans to call or write their favorite music video show and request 'food stamps' by Niva the Soul Diva."
