The two-disc set is the most expansive music collection in the history of the festival featuring performance by contemporary superstars, acclaimed recording artists and music legends from 2009. Executive producers are Mathew Knowles, President & C.E.O. of Music World Entertainment & Michelle Ebanks, President of Essence Communications Inc.

The Essence Music Festival is the nation's largest annual gathering of African-American music and culture featuring emerging, superstar and legendary recording artists.

Capturing the festival experience, the deluxe DVD features 9 live performances and the CD contains 10 tracks by award winning and multi-generational artists.
