New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Pam Workman Entertainment) - New Music Seminar (NMS), the 'future of music' conference coming to NYC on July 19 - 21, announces the NMS Artist on the Verge (powered by OurStage) 2010 Summer Project finalists: Comic Book Heroes, Hotspur and Yonas. All three finalists will perform live at the NMS Artist on the Verge Party at Santos Party House on Tuesday, July 20th in New York City. The Grand Prize Winner will receive the NMS Reflection Award Presented by Mountain Dew and Doritos, an award worth over $50,000 in prizes, at NMS on Wednesday, July 21st.

Hosting the night will be music personalities Matt Pinfield and Leslie Fram, from New York's newest rock station, WRXP's 'The Rock Show.'

The three NMS Artist on the Verge Project finalists were chosen from more than 600 acts that were submitted and voted on by the NMS Music Committee, with the help of the OurStage.com fan community. All artists were selected with the input of NMS's partners-as well as tastemakers, music bloggers and key industry executives-to determine the best artist with the greatest chance of success to break nationally. Criteria are based on music sales, touring history, merchandise sales, media (both online and in print) and other factors as determined by the NMS Music Committee.

Comic Book Heroes, a classic rock band, hails from Philadelphia and started working together as a band by age 11. They recently won the NASCAR 2010 National Promo Campaign, were named by Disney as 'The Next Big Thing,' have sold over 160,000 downloads of their single 'Catch Me if You Can,' received the Songwriters Hall of Fame Abe Olam Scholarship this past June and are the No 1 ranked artist in OurStage Rock. https://www.ourstage.com/profile/comicbookheroes.

Hotspur, a rock/pop band from Maryland who headline shows across the Northeast, were bestowed by MTV as 'Buzzworthy,' won a national MTVU fan vote in 2009, and can be heard across numerous MTV shows regularly. They are also a "Best of OurStage Rock" charting artist, and part of Taco Bell's 'Feed the Beat' program along with All-American Rejects. https://www.ourstage.com/profile/hotspur Yonas, aka CAUSE, is a Bronx, NY hip-hop artist and rapper who recently earned Billboard Magazine's No 1 Rap/Hip Hop Songwriting Award. He has performed alongside everyone from Pharoahe Monch and Wyclef to Jurassic 5 and DJ Envy and recently won OurStage's "Roc The Mic" contest with Bow Wow. He was also nominated by the Independent Music Awards as the best Rap/Hip Hop Album of the Year in 2009. https://www.ourstage.com/profile/yonas Artist on the Verge Party @ Santos Party House - Tuesday, July 20th, NYC 8:00 pm: doors open 9:00 pm: Yonas 9:30 pm: Comic Book Heroes 10:00 pm: Hotspur 10:30 pm: DJ Chris Landry

In order to qualify for the NMS Artist on the Verge Project, the artists met the NMS contest criteria of never having been on a major or major independent label, and reside in the United States. These artists must be selling concert tickets, music and merchandise in multiple markets, and have a real buzz both off and online, with media coverage and other factors determining if they qualify by the NMS Music Committee.
