New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Shore Fire Media) - Renee Fleming recently told ABC's Sandy Kenyon that the concept for hew new album 'Dark Hope' - on which the superstar soprano explores works by Arcade Fire, Muse, The Mars Volta and others - initially faced some tough critics in the form of her two teenage daughters. But the project ended up becoming a family affair, with Fleming's daughters - and sister - contributing backing vocals.

In a USA Today feature that also ran this week, Fleming describes the process of recording 'Dark Hope' with producer David Kahne (The Strokes, Regina Spektor) - often having to switch gears after an opera performance at the Met the night before.

Renee Fleming will be performing at the Ravinia Festival in Chicago on July 24, with shows in Pittsburgh, Winston-Salem and Washington DC in September.
