NEW YORK (Top40 Charts/ Wu-Tang International) - Day 4...
For someone without a solo album, Doc's music catalogue can easily come close to 4 - 5 albums, let's take the "Stolen Legacy" of
Black Knights' projects that remain unreleased to date, apparently the Knights recorded about two albums while in the East Coast after signing with Wu . From our recent interview with the Wu Element producer we know Goldfinghaz produced an entire album for the Knights, then there were songs produced by RZA, Mathematics and few others that are still hidden under the chambers of 36.
The fans were lucky enough to get hold of their dbut album "Every Knight Is a ......" after it got shelved when Loud records folded. What about the collabo's? Songs before they joined Wu? Songs they recorded that we don't even know about? The only people that know or come close to this are the original Black Knight's members.
In celebrating his life and legacy, Wu-International's own Reccollectah has dug high and low to get some exclusive Doc Doom songs, part were never officially released, some are demo versions, features and songs from upcoming albums. Black Knights were kind enough to contribute the self titled mixtape song "Ghetto Romantic" to this project, a song that will be featured on their upcoming album, to be released sometime this year: "All Skillz No Luck" with the late Doc Doom on it. 71Raw's producer, Anthai Da Protagonist also sent in a Doc Doom tribute song featuring Black Knights and The Committee from his upcoming album "Anthai Drugs" due out sometime this year in August. How about the highly sort after tribute from the UK artist Shaka Amazulu The 7th that the fans have been emailing and asking for? after a tight bargain and squeeze Shaka agreed to send in a snippet of the song "Floyd 3": the Doc Doom tribute featuring again the Black Knights, Northstar, Warcloud and Dexter Wiggle.
While this mixtape is packed with a lot of exclusives, rare b-sides and unreleased songs, some artists went the extra mile and made plans to go into the studio to record a tribute to Doc Doom specifically for this mixtape. Popa Wu wanted to record the poetry he wrote for our Doc Doom Tribute Week, Selima Young had something in work with Cappadonna for this mixtape and Solomon Childs also agreed to do something for it. Unfortunately due to time constraint, access to studio, daily responsibilities and so on, they never managed to get it to us before we published and released the mixtape, but it will be put on site if and when it gets to us. Thanks to everybody that has contributed one way or the other to this project, special thanks to Reccollectah, TCG Graphix, Black Knights, Anthia and Popa Wu for their help.
