New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Anchor Blue) - Anchor Blue, a west coast-based retailer with 112 stores focused on denim and youth fashion, and fashion line Swag Like Us are launching the 'Can You Rock with Anchor Blue?' campaign featuring T-Pain this July in line with the back-to-school season. 'This is a great opportunity for me to work with some up-and-coming talent, while giving someone a head start in the music business,' says T-Pain. 'I'm glad to be partnering up with Anchor Blue and Swag Like Us to make it happen. Who knows what next big artist we'll uncover!' 'Can You Rock with Anchor Blue?' allows consumers the opportunity to create a new, original song for the chance of a lifetime to record a song written and produced by Grammy Award-winning singer/producer/songwriter T-Pain. Aspiring singers or rappers can submit their demo between July 15th and August 26th by posting the track to anchorblue.com. No purchase will be necessary to enter the contest. 'Anchor Blue wants to hear from our customers and give youth a voice. What better way than to welcome submissions from thousands of them?' asks Erik Forsell, VP of Marketing for Anchor Blue. 'The partnership between Swag Like Us and Anchor Blue will open up a new outlet for music-related apparel in the mall just as back-to-school shopping starts.' In conjunction with the contest, Anchor Blue is teaming up with Swag Like Us to uniquely bridge music, fashion and culture with a line of apparel that re-mixes music into fashion. 'We recognize that our customer's personal taste in music is reflected in their style choices. We view this unique correlation as an opportunity to be a leader in a new fashion category by re-mixing hit songs of today and classic songs from yesterday into wearable art,' comments Rick Martin, CEO of Swag Like Us. Completing the connection, starting July 22nd through late August Anchor Blue customers will receive a free download from the Anchor Blue website with the purchase of a Swag Like Us T-shirt or pair of Anchor Blue denim. While Anchor Blue is based on the west coast, a new e-commerce site launching during back-to-school opens up shopping to customers worldwide.
