Nashville, TN (Top40 Charts/ Allen Media Strategies) - The Summer Block Party 2010 Tour touches down in the heart of Appalachia at Logan's Coalfield Jamboree Theatre this Saturday June 19th at 7pm, and anticipation is high. The major production concert festival tour is being presented for the unheard of low price of just $5.00 per person at the door, through the generosity of several local area businesses and national tour sponsor Food For The Hungry. No advance tickets are being sold, to allow families and groups the opportunity to attend the concert at the last minute.
The entire theatre, including the balcony, will be open to accommodate the large number of expected attendees, including church groups and Contemporary Christian music fans from around the region.
'We're thankful for the assistance of several civic minded area businesses and the Food For The Hungry organization for their help in keeping the show super affordable, so that as many people as possible can come out and enjoy this concert', said local show promoter and radio personality Dave Allen.
Headlining Summer Block Party 2010 will be Contemporary Christian music superstars 33 Miles. The country/rock influenced group, often compared to Rascal Flatts, was a New Artist of the Year nominee from the Gospel Music Association's Dove Awards and the Visionary Awards at the Christian Music Hall of Fame. Their album '33 Miles' reached the Top 10 on Billboard's Top Heatseekers albums chart and their song 'There Is A God' was played as the wake-up call music for the Space Shuttle astronauts on their STS-128 mission in September 2009.
Also appearing will be Tampa Florida based Christian rock band Among The Thirsty. Sometimes referred to as the 'Fab Four of Christian Music', Among The Thirsty's first single, 'I'd Need A Savior' exploded onto the national scene in the Top 20 on American Billboard and finished in the top 40 songs of 2009. The song also topped the CRW charts, landing them a No 1 song in the country on the Inspirational charts, climbed to No 8 on the Adult Contemporary charts and wrapped up 2009 as K-Loves' No 5 song of 2009. Hot new Tulsa OK based husband and wife duo NewFire and Greenville South Carolina's Crashing Jericho will also be appearing.
Along with Food For The Hungry, area businesses who are throwing their support behind the Summer Block Party 2010 concert festival include Thornhill Auto Group, Logan Bank and Trust, Gatti's Pizza, Logan Motorcycle Sales, Jac Clutter State Farm Insurance, Blair Law Office, Flip and Twist Gymnastics, McGrew Tire, FireCo, Best Western Logan Inn, Baisden and Associates Insurance, Keefer's Kawaski and Suzuki, The U.P.S. Store, Little General Store and several churches of Logan County.
