Cleveland, OH (Top40 Charts/ Cleveland Agora) - The new date for the Cleveland Agora Budgie concert is Memorial Day, May 31st. Budgie, from the UK, featuring founder Burke Shelley on bass and vocals, long time Budgie drummer Steve Williams and Craig Goldy (formerly of the band DIO) on guitar are making a long awaited stop in Cleveland, Ohio. The last time they performed there was in 1978. An intense band that has been recording and performing live since 1970 (this tour is their 40th anneversary tour). Some give Budgie credit for starting heavy metal. They'll be performing at the newly reopened Cleveland Agora which was just about to cease to exist until Steve Neal got together with owner Hank LaConti and decided to bring this venue back to life. Steve wants to make the Agora into the venue it used to be back in the 60's and 70's. Back when the great bands used to gig there. Budgie's last concert in Cleveland back in '78 was at the Agora. Opening up for Budgie will be the Rick Ray Band. The Cleveland Agora is located at 5000 Euclid Ave., Cleveland, OH 44103. The concert takes place Monday, May 31st, 2010. Tickets are $25.00 through ticketmaster. Doors at 7pm, concert at 8pm.
