Smc Recordings Murs Release Impressive First Week Numbers

San Francisco, CA (Top40 Charts/ SMC Recordings) - Hip Hop artist, Murs released his newest project, "ForNever" with producer 9th Wonder, on SMC Recordings/Team Taco April 13th to stellar first week numbers. "ForNever" is making a huge impact on the charts, with first day sales landing the album No 2 on the iTunes Hip Hop/Rap chart and No 5 on Amazon's Hip Hop & and Pop Rap Charts. Great numbers on the Billboard charts as well; No 9 on Independent Albums, No 9 on Rap Albums, No 22 on R&B / Hip-Hop Albums, and No 87 on Billboard Top 200. With an aggressive marketing campaign and strong digital push, these early numbers prove success for this much anticipated album.

Murs track "Fornever" will be the iTunes "Single of The Week" on the homepage starting April 27th. As iTunes most coveted retail marketing program, it averages 300,000 downloads and will be a major push for album sales. iTunes got on board in support of the album, featuring the project on the homepage on release date and a continued prominent feature as the "New and Noteworthy" album on the Hip Hop page.

The music video for "ForNever's" first single "The Problem Is" has been added to MTV Jams and will be in rotation on MTVU soon. Murs recently embarked on a headlining 40-city tour, promoting his newest project. Media and fans have given an overwhelming response to the newest project, as another classic album that does not disappoint.

The two have achieved acclaim for their work together on their joint album, Murray's Revenge, an independent success and Murs independent release; & Murs 3:16- The 9th Edition.

"ForNever," is the fourth collaborative album with critically acclaimed producer 9th Wonder; who has produced for the who's who list in hip hop and soul from Jay-z and Nas to Erykah Badu, Mary J Blige, Cold Play and Destiny's Child. The duo's first two collaborations sold a combined 112,000 records.
