NEW YORK (UPN) - Grammy-winning rapper and actress Eve - who has held her own on the big screen in Barbershop and XXX - debuts as the star of her own sitcom when UPN premieres Eve Monday (September 15), at 8:30 p.m. ET/PT.

In the series, Eve portrays Shelly Williams, an up-and-coming fashion designer trying to manage her career and her love life. In Monday's episode, titled "Worst First Date Ever," Shelly meets a promising new man but things get ugly - and funny - when her couture dress gets stuck in his pants.

Eve's role as a Miami fashion designer is a case of art imitating life. The rapper is the designer of Fetish, a clothing line that bowed earlier this year with apparel that she says is sexy but not pricey.
