San Francisco, CA (TOP40 Charts/ San Francisco Parlor Opera) -- Tickets are now available for San Francisco Parlor Opera's upcoming production of W.A. Mozart's Don Giovanni. Mozart's masterful score springs to life under the experienced music direction of Steven Bailey, assisted by Kevin Korth, and stage direction of Phil Lowery. SF Parlor Opera's production of Mozart's masterpiece is set in modern day New Orleans during Mardi Gras. The excesses of the Mardi Gras celebration juxtaposed with its underlying religious significance are a perfect vehicle for Lorenzo da Ponte's searing treatment of this morality tale. San Francisco Parlor Opera is a small opera company based in San Francisco that performs operas in their original language to small audiences in private homes and other intimate settings. In its short lifespan of two years and four productions, SF Parlor Opera has sold out performance after performance and been celebrated by critics, audience members and industry insiders alike. After seeing SF Parlor Opera's Spring 2009 production of Gounod's Faust, Matthew Shilvock, Assistant General Director of San Francisco Opera said: "You have created something magical and incredibly effective with very few resources. The experience of interacting with opera when you are just feet from the singers is very different from what happens in a large opera house, and you create a connection with the audience that is powerful and very moving." The cast of Don Giovanni includes SF Parlor Opera's three directors, Cole Grissom (Don Giovanni), Elizabeth O'Neill (Zerlina) and Patricia Urbano (Donna Elvira), as well as Igor Vieira (Leporello), Rolf Dauz (Leporello), Kristen Brown (Donna Anna), Justin Marsh (Don Ottavio), Kurt Krikorian (Masetto) and Steven Hoffmann (Il Commendatore). In addition, Sarah Young is covering the role of Zerlina. Performances are slated for May 8, 15, 20 and 22, 2010. All performances will be at San Francisco Parlor Opera's performance space at 1652 Hayes Street, San Francisco, California 94117. Tickets are $55 each and are available now.
