LOS ANGELES (Top40 Charts/ Black Velvet Deluxe Official Website) - L.A. rock band Black Velvet Deluxe's song 'Sin City Tonight' reached No 14 on WLFR in its first week of distribution. The band sends out a special note of thanks to Matt "The Jersey Rocker" Unversaw on 91.7 WLFR out of The Richard Stockton College of New Jersey, who does a Jersey Rock Block show on Wednesdays 2-5 pm EST, and serves as the Top 200 Music Director for their college station. The Jersey Rocker can be found on MySpace as "the jerseyrocker". When Sal Acosta, bassist for Black Velvet Deluxe, found out they were in the top twenty in the New Jersey area, along with the likes of Flogging Molly, his excitement went to another level. "Man, I love Flogging Molly. It's awesome how they combine punk rock and Celtic sounds so effortlessly. Now that ups this honor of hitting the Top 20 so quick, for sure." Drummer Josh Lewis went on to explain that this "Sin City" was not written about Las Vegas, as so many expect. It is about Los Angeles; the part that is not seen in the celebrity limelight or captured on the tourist's shiny new camera, yet it is the life many will live in Sin City Tonight. This chart-topping news comes on the heels of the band performing at the 2010 L.A. Music Awards Showcase for their nominated song 'My Pride' in the Rock Single of the Year category.
