LONDON, UK (Darkness Fans Website) - The Darkness' album Permission to Land is being rush-released in the US on the back of its success in Britain. Permission to Land went to Number One in the UK this week - a remarkable achievement for a band that was unknown at the start of the year. Now, in an attempt to capitalise on the attention, the US release has been brought forward by Atlantic Records. The album, which debuted in this country at Number Two, was initially due out in the States in early 2004 but will now be released on September 16. It will tie in with the Darkness' headlining appearances at the New York Bowery Ballroom (September 18), Toronto Lee's Palace (20) and The Los Angeles Roxy (22). "Justin's already being recognised in the street over there," writes NME.com. "They're going to go and play a few gigs to see how they get on. It's an exciting time."
