NEW YORK (Good Charlotte Fans Website) - Good Charlotte is about to start work on its next album, the follow-up to the band's multi-platinum second release the Young And The Hopeless. They have written a lot of songs already and plan to do more while on the road this fall. Their tour kicks off in Madison, Wisconsin on September 18, and wraps in Grand Prairie, Texas on November 11.

Guitarist Bill Martin is excited about the new material, and plans to record in practice rooms and soundchecks while on the road. He told MTV, "We have all gotten a lot better on our instruments, and we really challenged ourselves on the last record. I think we'll just do the same thing, and hopefully it will be even better."

Before they start work on the next album, Good Charlotte plans to release "Hold On" as the last single from the Young And The Hopeless. The song is about the dedication of their fans. Martin told MTV, "We get letters from kids when we're on tour, and they all say how much our songs help them. That means a lot to us, so this is a big thank you to all of those people."

In the mean time, Good Charlotte is getting ready to perform at Thursday's (August 28) MTV Video Music Awards. Martin said, "This is all new for us, and it feels really weird being in here when it's empty and seeing all the names taped on the seats and thinking, 'Wow, 50 Cent's gonna watch us play.' I'm kind of nervous, but it's awesome. It's gonna be great."

The band will also perform at the NFL kickoff concert at the Great Mall in Washington, D.C. on September 4.
