LOS ANGELES (Top40 Charts/ Black Velvet Deluxe Official Website) - BLACK VELVET DELUXE always knew that, as a rock band, they would give what they could back to the community, and especially for wounded service members since many of their school friends had entered the military. The band already has plans to play at Wounded Warrior Units in So. Ca. as soon as all the arrangements are made, so it was only natural that they answered this call to send a big box of CDs out to the wounded troops that the members of Project Lifting Spirits will be visiting in March.

Steve Burchell, rhythm guitarist for BLACK VELVET DELUXE, shared his view on shipping the CDs out to Georgia, "I would just as soon buy them all a pint, but short of that I'm sure they'll enjoy the tunes, so that's all good. Cheers to our wounded mates, and come see us when you are out and about."

Stacey Blevins, one of the founding members of Project Lifting Spirits, explains the group's mission statement, "Our desire is to provide ongoing support and gifts of encouragement to our brave wounded service members both home and abroad. We are so proud to in any small way to serve those who have so bravely served us."

Currently, Project Lifting Spirits is focusing on two hospitals, both in the Augusta, GA area, and that is where CDs from BLACK VELVET DELUXE will be delivered. The Army's Warrior in Transition Battalion is located at the Dwight D. Eisenhower Army Medical Center, a 300-bed hospital, based at Fort Gordon. The Center serves as the headquarters of the Army's Southeast Regional Medical Command, or SERMC. The Charlie Norwood VA Medical Center is a Veterans Administration Hospital, and they care for some of our more seriously injured service members.

It seems as though some of our wounded service members may be getting their hands on the new BLACK VELVET DELUXE CD Sin City Tonight before the general public.

The album release concert is at Paladino's Club, on Friday, March 19 at 9:00 PM in Tarzana, CA.

'The nation which forgets its defenders will be itself forgotten.' Calvin Coolidge

New fans are mesmerized and die-hard rock fans are intrigued with BLACK VELVET DELUXE's commitment to gritty, raw rock n roll.
