LOS ANGELES (Top40 Charts/ Lippin Group/ Bug Music Publishing) - Bug Music Publishing, the largest independent contemporary music publisher in the world, capped off an extraordinary 2009 at the 52nd Annual Grammy Awards. Receiving a record number of 65 Grammy nominations, in nearly every category across the board, the publishing group took home a total of 15 Grammy awards, including the marquee Record of the Year for Kings of Leon's 'Use Somebody.' Kings of Leon were three for four on the evening, also winning Best Rock Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals and Best Rock Song for 'Use Somebody.'

Winning Grammy Awards in 10 different categories, Bug Music received nominations in a diverse 40 separate categories across all musical genres.

'It was an incredible day celebrating music's highest honors with all our nominees and winners,' said David Hirshland, President of Bug Music. 'Not only did the day recognize the talents and successes of our writers, but certainly demonstrated the breadth and depth of the Bug Music catalog.'

Prior to the telecast Bug Music held a pre-Grammy party for all their nominees and honored double Grammy nominee Booker T. Jones as their 2009 Legacy Songwriter award. His latest album 'Potato Hole' won Best Pop Instrumental Album. Long time Bug Music writer and Producer of the Year nominee T Bone Burnett presented Bela Fleck with the 2009 Bug Music Songwriter of the Year award. Receiving two Grammy Awards for his three nominations, Bela Fleck's career count stands at 13 Grammy awards with a total of 27 Grammy nominations in more different categories than anyone in Grammy history.

Additional attendees included quadruple Grammy nominee, songwriter/producer and American Idol judge, Kara DioGuardi; winner of Best Traditional Folk Album Loudon Wainwright III; double nominees Jim Lauderdale and Kendell Marvel; blues nominee John Hammond and Grammy presenter, Oscar-nominated actor (Crazy Heart) Jeff Bridges.
