New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Hail Animator Official Website) - Alternative indie outift Hail Animator will be releasing their debut EP, We Live in Boxes, on Friday 5th March 2010. The six-track has been in the making since the band's formation a year ago, and high praise has already been awarded to early previews of the material. The EP will be available as both a physical copy and digital download - CDs will be stocked locally in
Crash Records and Jumbo Records, whilst discounted versions will be available online via iTunes, Amazon and Napster. The Leeds four piece are also promising that in the run-up to the launch, people will be able to get hold of free songs, whilst the entire EP will be posted on the band's Myspace (myspace.com/hailanimator) on Monday 1st March for a limited time.
In addition, Hail Animator will play a special launch gig to celebrate the release, taking place in Leeds on Friday 5th March, at The Cockpit. Doors open at 19.00, with tickets being priced at five pounds. Support comes from the critically acclaimed EastStrikeWest (myspace.com/eaststrikewestband) and electronically-charged live looper Charlie Barnes (myspace.com/charliebarnes). Hail Animator then head out to promote the EP on a national scale. Drummer, Ste Anderson explains;
'We want to do something different than simply turning up at a gig and announcing that we now have a CD available to buy. We want to take control of our own night, display our first suitcase of merchandise and celebrate the EP launch with people who want to be there. It also means we can get up and play with a couple of other great bands that we think deserve recognition. It's not just about us - we want an exciting bill, where everyone adds something to the event, and that's what we've got. We're very excited.'
Richard Petch (Guitars/Vocals) is the founding member of the band and he justifies the long wait in getting Hail Animator's music out of the studio:
We Live In Boxes is the first chapter of material, that we have conceived, developed, argued over and refined since we first got together. It's 30 minutes of where we've been at musically the last year, and where we intend to go from here on. These six songs finally feel right together lyrically and musically and the time just feels right to really get it out there now and make the first big push.'
