SANTA MONICA, Calif. (Top40 Charts/ 429 Records) - The BoDeans have signed with 429 Records and are readying the release of "MR. SAD CLOWN," a collection of fifteen new, original songs. Hailing from Waukesha, Wisconsin, the BoDeans have long been considered one of the premier American rock and roll bands, having created a roots-based, signature style over an unshakeable and influential career. Since their universally acclaimed 1986 debut, "Love & Hope & Sex & Dreams," produced by T-Bone Burnett, the band have won fans the world over, played alongside the biggest names in the business and garnered critical and commercial acclaim. "MR. SAD CLOWN" will be released on April 6th by 429 Records, which is distributed by Universal/Fontana in the U.S., Universal Music in Australia and E1 Entertainment in Canada.

A musical collaboration that's approaching 30 years, the BoDeans remain a pioneering and much imitated band. Voted "The Best New American Band" by the readers of Rolling Stone magazine when they made their debut, the BoDeans have continued to evolve honing their sincere lyricism, heartfelt melodies and rich guitar sound. Produced by the band's front man, Kurt Neumann, "MR. SAD CLOWN" is their ninth studio album.

The BoDeans will be touring throughout the year in support of "MR. SAD CLOWN," and have confirmed a few special appearances at this year's South By Southwest music festival including March 18 (Fontana/Universal showcase) and March 19 (in support of Cheap Trick).
The BoDeans are Kurt Neumann and Sam Llanas.
