About Shirley Crabbe
Jazz vocalist Shirley Crabbe sings music that appeals to the heart, performing jazz classics that transcend time and place. Trained as an opera singer, Shirley's technical prowess in classical music combines with her natural instincts for jazz and hip interpretation of contemporary music to create a unique jazz sound that is liquid and rich with a sonorous vocal timbre.

Placing 3rd in the American Traditions Competition at the Savannah International Music Festival (Georgia) and winning the 2009 Arts Council of Rockland Performing Artist Award has helped make the last two years very exciting for Shirley. Currently performing at various venues in New York City, she has entertained audiences at some of the City's finest cabarets and jazz clubs, most recently appearing in two showcases at the world-famous jazz club Birdland. She has performed at Madison Square Garden and the prestigious Paramount Theater, opened for the jazz icon Abby Lincoln, and performed alongside well-known jazz-fusion artists Marion Meadows and Bob Baldwin. The legendary pianist Harold Mabern, and bassist Jamil Nasser have been members of her back-up band. A versatile performer, Shirley has also appeared in various theatrical productions, including Ain't Misbehavin' at the Elmwood Theater, where she performed the role of Armelia. She is also a featured soloist on the CD recording Africa by Mystic Pilgrims. www.shirleycrabbe.com.

Porter has performed privately for Barbara Walters, Mayor Mike Bloomberg, Liz Smith, Regis Philbin, Starr Jones, and many other celebrities. Most recently, in collaboration with El Salvador's US Embassy, Dexter performed with the National Youth Orchestra of El Salvador in their first jazz show.

Dexter participated in the Savannah Music Festival in Savannah, Georgia and plans to continue performing jazz wherever he can. Most recently, Porter has performed Jazz Tuesdays at Ashford and Simpson's Sugar Bar Restaurant and Lounge. Dexter is from Eatonton, Georgia and is presently resides in Weehawken, New Jersey.
