NEW YORK (NY RnB magazine) - The investigation of Murder Inc. Records - home to Ashanti and Ja Rule - continues in New York City, and prosecutors may have caught a break in their case. Two Murder Inc. associates have cut plea bargain deals with investigators and are expected to assist police seeking to uncover alleged connections between the record label and organized crime money-laundering operations. The men were charged with laundering money through a Murder Inc.-affiliated tuxedo rental shop. No charges have been laid against Murder Inc. head Irv Gotti. The label is partnered with Def Jam Records, a division of Universal-Vivendi.
