NEW YORK (Top40 Charts/ Shore Fire Media) - Capping an exceptionally successful 2009, Neko Case has earned the first Grammy nominations of her career for her album 'Middle Cyclone' (Anti- Records). The chart-topping release, nominated for Best Contemporary Folk Album and Best Recording Package, has been the best-reviewed and fastest-selling album of her career. Case's two upcoming T.V. appearances this December are both coups - on December 8, the Turner Classic Movies channel will feature Case - an ardent film fan - all evening as "guest programmer" with host Robert Osborne; and on December 16, she will be a guest on Elvis Costello's acclaimed music/talk series "Spectacle" (Sundance Channel). On "Spectacle" she will join Costello, Sheryl Crow, Ron Sexsmith and Jesse Winchester for a 'guitar pull' - a swapping of songs and stories. Case's label, Anti- Records, has also announced that, beginning today, it is offering a limited edition, museum-quality giclee art print of the 'Middle Cyclone' album cover. It may be purchased at the label's on-line store ( https://bit.ly/7gwf6R ). Pitchfork Magazine recently cited the striking package as "Reigning 2009 Album Art Champ," while Paste Magazine went a step further, naming 'Middle Cyclone' the top album cover of the decade. 'Middle Cyclone' was the highest debuting independent release of 2009 to date, bowing at No 3 on the Billboard Top 200 chart in March, as well as No 1 on the Top Independent Albums chart. Amazon recently named it the best album of 2009 on its annual year-end list. https://www.nekocase.com/ https://www.anti.com/artists/view/13
