New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Warner Bros. Records) - Muse's current single 'Uprising' has now topped Mediabase's Alternative Rock chart for 13 consecutive weeks, breaking the record for number of consecutive weeks at No. 1 on the Mediabase Alternative Rock chart for the 2009 calendar year. 'Uprising' is the first single from the British rock trio's fifth studio album The Resistance, which earned the band their highest-ever debut on the Billboard album chart when it bowed at No. 3. Muse's previous album, 2006's gold Black Holes and Revelations, peaked at No. 9 on the Billboard album chart. The Resistance also notched 20 No. 1 debuts around the world, including Australia, France, Germany, Italy, Ireland, and the U.K.

Muse, which is vocalist/guitarist Matt Bellamy, bassist Chris Wolstenholme, and drummer Dom Howard, will perform on Saturday Night Live on December 19th. In addition, the band have announced a series of upcoming holiday radio shows in the U.S, including KROQ's legendary Almost Acoustic Christmas at Los Angeles' Gibson Amphitheatre on December 13th. Please see below for all dates.

The Resistance was produced by Muse and mixed by famed audio engineer Mark 'Spike' Stent. The band, which recently supported U2 on several American tour dates, are currently winding up a sold-out tour of the U.K. and Europe. They will announce details of a spring headlining U.S. tour in support of The Resistance shortly.

In other Muse news, the band has been nominated for a 2010 People's Choice Award, which is voted on by the public, for 'Favorite Rock Band.'
