
CHICAGO, IL. (Top40 Charts/ Out the Box Records) - Emerging talent meets established talent on November 27 when Troubled Identity, a local alternative rock band comprised of
Highland Park andLake Forest high school students, opens for The Freddy Jones Band at Park West in Lincoln Park. Band members include Shane Stewart on lead guitar, Max Subar on vocals, guitar and bass, Jake Nankin on drums and Alex Pomerantz on bass, vocals and guitar.
Troubled Identity formed in 2006 when Stewart, Subar and Nankin met while students at the famed Paul Green School of Rock, which served as the inspiration for the movie 'School of Rock' starring Jack Black. Pomerantz joined the group in early 2009, and the band recently won the Highland Park High School Battle of the Bands competition.
The band, which is quickly gaining a strong local following, writes and composes original music and lyrics and also performs a mix of covers. Out the Box Records, a Chicago record label, signed them in October through their indie rock branch, Split Red Records.
Troubled Identity is currently in the studio recording their self-titled debut album, which will be released in the coming months.
Hailing from Chicago, The Freddy Jones Band's first came onto the music scene in 1992 and have spawned numerous hit songs and hit the top 20 on the Billboard charts. The band has performed with the likes of Widespread Panic, Phish, Sheryl Crow, Dave Matthews, Blues Traveler, Ben Harper and Matchbox 20, among others. Their recently released CD 'Time Well Wasted' includes the fast rising singles 'In a Daydream' and 'Home Thing.'
