The powerful trio which SPIN magazine hailed as a "stunningly direct blues/hard rock/punk hybrid" (August 2009) are supporting the release of their new CD Never Too Loud, released September 8 via Bad Taste Records/Caroline. For the new album, the group - Danko Jones (lead vocals/guitars), John Calabrese (bass), Dan Cornelius (drums)-teamed with Grammy-winning producer Nick Raskulinecz (Rush, Foo Fighters, Coheed & Cambria, Stone Sour, Velvet Revolver).
The band has been invited to perform the NHL post-game concert series for the Tampa Bay Lightning November 25 at the St. Pete Times Forum.
The group's buzzed-about first single "Code of the Road" is featured on the Saw VI soundtrack (Trustkill Records). The song (about the endless ups and downs of touring) also can be heard in EA's new racing game Need for Speed: Nitro (available for Wii and Nintendo DS) as well as in commercials for the game in the U.K., France Austria and Switzerland. The video for "Code of the Road"- featuring comedian Jim Florentine ("Crank Yankers," "That Metal Show") as the bus driver-is currently being shown daily in over 350 Harley-Davidson locations across the U.S. and at over 1000 sports clubs nationwide through ClubCom. Catch the raucous clip on FUSE TV's "On Demand" program
The band will also appear in the forthcoming film Saxon Heavy Metal Thunder: The Movie, a documentary about British heavy metallers Saxon. The film includes appearances from Metallica's Lars Ulrich, Motorhead's Lemmy Kilmister, Fast Eddie Clarke and others.
