New York (Top40 Charts/ Atlantic Records) - "Under," the latest single from Swagga Entertainment/Atlantic recording artist Pleasure P, has hit No 1 at both Urban and Mainstream R&B radio outlets nationwide, according to Mediabase and Nielsen BDS. The track's chart-topping success comes five months after its initial impact at radio, and marks Pleasure P's first-ever No 1 Mainstream R&B hit.
What's more, "Under" is currently No 5 with-a-bullet on Billboard's "R&B/Hip-Hop Songs" chart, while its companion video - directed by Erik White (Diddy, T.I., Chris Brown) - recently hit No 1 on BET's "106 & Park." The clip is streaming now on Pleasure's MySpace page, located at www.myspace.com/pleasurepmyspace.
Named one of XXL Magazine's "Ten For '10," Pleasure is currently on the road alongside R. Kelly on his hugely anticipated "Ladies Make Some Noise!" tour of North America. Due to popular demand, a series of additional dates have just been announced, with shows now continuing through early December (see below itinerary).
In other news, Pleasure has just launched his official web store, located at https://store.pleasurepmusic.com. The site offers a range of exclusive merchandise, alongside digital downloads of the LA-based singer's chart-topping debut album, "THE INTRODUCTION OF MARCUS COOPER."
A No 1 R&B smash on the iTunes Store upon its June release, "THE INTRODUCTION OF MARCUS COOPER" also includes the hit singles "Did You Wrong," and the No 1 smash, "Boyfriend No 2." The latter track was a No 1 Urban radio sensation earlier this spring, while also reaching the top 10 at Rhythmic outlets nationwide. In addition, the song's companion video clip scored major rotation at MTV, MTV Jams, MTV Hits, and VH1 Soul. "Boyfriend No 2" also reached the No 2 spot on BET's "106 & Park," where Pleasure has made a series of electrifying live appearances.
The success of "Boyfriend No 2" and "Under" follows Pleasure P's smash debut single, "Did You Wrong," which lit up the Rhythmic charts last fall. The track's accompanying video - which can be viewed at Pleasure P's official website, www.pleasurepmusic.com - proved a blockbuster introduction, reaching the top 5 on BET's "106 & Park" countdown.
Pleasure P - who has only just returned from this summer's hugely successful "Young Money Presents: America's Most Wanted Music Festival" tour alongside Lil' Wayne, Young Jeezy, Drake, and Soulja Boy - first attracted international attention as a member of Bluestar/Atlantic recording group Pretty Ricky. As solo artist, Pleasure heralded the release of "THE INTRODUCTION OF MARCUS COOPER" with a rapturously received live appearance at this year's Hot 97 Summer Jam 2009 at New Jersey's Giants Stadium.
"The New Bad-Boy of R&B" has also been praised in a wide array of publications and online outlets, including a cover profile in the June/July issue of Right On! and features in Vibe, XXL, Sister 2 Sister, Black Men, Vibe, Hip Hop Weekly, DJBooth.net, ConcreteLoop.com, UrbanStreetz.com, and BallerStatus.com, which ranked him as one of the "Top 10 R&B Singers in the Game Right Now."
