New York (Top40 Charts/ ORBA SQUARA Official Website) - NY indie-folk band ORBA SQUARA is set to perform two free shows as part of CMJ 2009 in support of their new album THE TROUBLE WITH FLYING - available October 27. Orba Squara is the musical alter ego of Mitch Davis, an independent New York-based singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist. If Davis's name doesn't ring a bell (yet), his artistry most certainly will: 'Perfect Timing,' a track from Orba Squara's 2007 debut, sunshyness, was featured in the first international TV campaign for the iPhone. (See it at https://tinyurl.com/ykbjw4h) On the new album, Davis finds inspiration from simple things in life, like his collection of acoustic guitars, toy pianos, bells, melodicas and other instruments picked up at junk stores and flea markets from around the world. Special guest, rocker Billy Squier, plays guitar and sings on a couple songs on the album including the title track and 'Tell Me' which Davis wrote with Squier's vocal style in mind. After a fortuitous meeting backstage, Davis handed his childhood hero a copy of sunshyness and the two started collaborating.
