NEW YORK (Top40 Charts/ Shore Fire Media) - Acclaimed composer, educator, and virtuoso instrumentalist Mark O'Connor is the subject of major attention from The New Yorker this week, including this just-posted special video feature and a "The Talk Of The Town" profile in the magazine. The article is entitled: "Making It New Dept. - Cabbage." Writer Nick Paumgarten introduces the readers to Mark's music through his own instruments hanging on his NYC apartment wall that he played during his career. It also covers Mark's String Camps and the soon to be released O'Connor Violin Method - the first tune and variations being "Boil 'em Cabbage Down." Watch O'Connor discuss his Violin Method on NewYorker.com here: https://www.newyorker.com/video?videoID=36865858001

Says the New Yorker: O'Connor's new approach is "an American grown rival to the Suzuki method."

The nod is just the latest in a flurry of attention and praise for O'Connor, with highlights including an in-depth documentary piece on Time.com and cover stories in the newest issues of Strings Magazine and International Musician. O'Connor just wrapped a busy summer with a trio of festival appearances in La Jolla, Aspen, capping off near his childhood home in Washington State at the Orcas Island Music Festival.

Look out for news of a full slate of fall activity with highlights including the release of the aforementioned violin method and a series of high profile engagements ranging from prestigious university residencies to Lincoln Center.
