NEW YORK (Domino Press Release) - Sultry singer Juana Molina hails from Argentina but don't expect the tango when you pop her CD in your discman. Her delicate, emotive voice wraps around gentle electro-folk melodies in the style of Beth Orton and Bjork. As Ariana Morgenstern of LA-based KCRW commented: "A unique, organic sound that transcends the usual."

Her first American-released album is coming out on Domino Records, a label with a diverse lineup of indie bands such as Clinic, the Notwist and acclaimed electronic composer Four Tet. Though Juana's sound will attract fans of Brazilian singers Bebel Gilberto and Cibele, the album is spare and experimental, making for an inspiring listening experience.
