LONDON, UK (Top40 Charts/
Craig Payne
Music Limited) - British guitarist,
Craig Payne and Sir Paul McCartney, appear to be a good combination as far as the USA iTunes store is concerned.
It all started in February, 2008, with the release of the 'Beautiful Night - Craig plays McCartney' album which at the time didn't really do much, in fact it just sat there collecting virtual dust in a digital age. After that album Craig wrote and produced the album 'Rockin' On A Level Surface' and the 'Wanderlust album, which again featured a Paul McCartney composition for the title track.
2008 closed with the release of 'Craig plays The Shadows' and Craig went into an intense production mode to produce the album 'Once Upon A Long Ago' which again featured a Paul McCartney composition for the title track. 'Quite coincidental, I just chose the best track I could find for the title'. Craig said.
Either way the figures, although not quite in the millions, show a good chemistry of talent with regard to Craig Payne's top selling tracks in particularly the USA iTunes store being mostly McCartney written tracks.
The latest release for Craig Payne is 'Come On People - Craig plays McCartney II' which is the second and final chapter in the Craig plays McCartney series and features a diverse selection of Macca material from 'Maybe I'm Amazed' to 'How Many People' two tracks at opposite ends of what is possibly the richest song book of our time.
So what next? Well Craig is just not saying, instead favouring a well earned rest and a few fun gigs with 'Craig Payne's Shadows' to close the year in style.
2010 provides many opportunities currently on the drawing board, including a brief 2010 UK tour and the possibility of working with a very well respected artist at some stage.
