This box set includes a 31-track compilation of music from the label and a 90-minute feature documentary on BYO Records and the early LA punk scene. The film will premiere in LA on Sept 10 at the Ricardo Montalba'n Theatre. Following the screening, 7 Seconds, Swingin Utters and Youth Brigade will perform. The documentary, directed by Jeff Alulis ('Do You Remember? 15 Years of the Bouncing Souls,' 'NOFX Backstage Passport') is about BYO and Youth Brigade's involvement in the burgeoning early-'80s LA punk movement. BYO began as an organization that promoted nonviolent punk shows during a time when the scene was rife with fighting and police interference. The organization soon evolved into a record label, releasing the seminal 'Someone Got Their Head Kicked In' compilation featuring Bad Religion and Social Distortion, as well as Youth Brigade's 'Sound & Fury,' debut albums from 7 Seconds, SNFU and more.
