LOS ANGELES (RIAA) - The American music industry's organization, the Recording Industry Association of America, has announced its most aggressive plans to fight downloading yet. The RIAA says that they will be pursuing legal action against computer-users who have made "substantial" collections of mp3 music files available online. American copyright law allows for damages of between $750 and $150,000 (U.S.) for each song offered for illegal download. The RIAA expects to file several hundred lawsuits within the next two or three months.
