New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Atlantic Records) - Sean Paul was booked to appear and perform in Brooklyn, New York at the Martin Luther King Jr. Concert Series on Monday, August 24. However, on the advice of his physician, he has been forced to cancel the scheduled appearance due to Laryngitis.

"I am really disappointed that I will not be able to appear", Sean Paul noted in a statement. Sean Paul has been on an extensive tour of the US in support of his fourth album, Imperial Blaze. The promotional tour which has extended for several weeks has taken him across the country for several interviews and appearances. His extensive work scheduled is thought to contribute to the throat problem which led to the cancellation.

"I've been working very hard these last few weeks, to deliver the album to my fans. I was looking forward to performing the new tracks in Brooklyn," Sean Paul added. The artiste will be seeking further treatment in the hopes of resuming the promotional tour in short order.

Fellow Caribbean superstar and friend, Machel Montano and his band will be performing in Brooklyn in place of Sean Paul who is expected to return to the MLK Concert Series stage next year.
