HOUSTON, Texas (Eagles Fans Website) - The Eagles have landed in singer-drummer Don Henley's home state of Texas. The band plays the second of a two-night stand at the Compaq Center in Houston on Tuesday (June 17), and then heads to Dallas, not far from where Henley grew up, for two dates at American Airlines Center on Thursday (June 19) and Friday (June 20). Henley was born in the small Lone Star State town of Gilmer, and currently maintains a residence in nearby Dallas. He says that area of Texas will always be home to him. "For family reasons. My family is there, I have a lot of old friends there, and it's my turf," Henley said. "I was born and raised three hours down the road, over in East, deep East Texas." Henley explains that his roots are in and around the Dallas area. He went to school there years before the Eagles formed in Los Angeles in 1971. "I have a lot of ties to that area," Henley said. " I went to college both in Nacogdoches - Stephen F. Austin - and I went to University Of North Texas, in Denton, for I think, a year-and-a-half. And that's home. But I spend my time back and forth between Dallas and Los Angeles, California."
