LA (Top40 Charts) - Michael Houston, brother of famed singer Whitney Houston, was arrested Wednesday (August 8) and charged for possessing cocaine, marijuana, drug paraphernalia, and being under the influence of drugs when pulled over by Fort Lee police officers, the Bergen Record reported. Officers stopped Houston, 39, for failing to yield to traffic during a lane merge when exiting a Holiday Inn parking lot. Upon noticing Houston's bloodshot eyes, dilated pupils, and dry mouth, officers searched his car and found 14 partially smoked marijuana cigarettes, a bag of marijuana, and cocaine. Houston voluntarily turned in another bag of marijuana when he reached the police station. Houston, a writer for Whitney's Nippy Inc., was arraigned at 12:30 a.m. Thursday (August 9), and released. His bail was set at $3,500. A 17-year-old girl traveling with him was released to her parents and not charged. Houston's arrest occurred on the same day Bobby Brown, Whitney's husband, was rushed to the hospital after experiencing a seizure.
