LOS ANGELES (Top40 Charts/ It's Alive! Media) - The New York-based band Brookville (https://www.unfilteredrecords.com/artists/show/brookville) has confirmed the release of their third full-length release, Broken Lights this September 29 on Unfiltered Records/ILG.
Unfiltered is the six-year old record label run by Brookville's Andy Chase and is the second release under a new agreement with Warner Music Group's Independent Label Group (ILG) to distribute his label.

Brookville's Andy Chase (founding member of the band Ivy) also announced that the band would head out on the road with Trashcan Sinatras with whom he has a long relationship, having produced their latest release. The tour begins on July 28 at the Casbah in San Diego and concludes on August 16 in Boston at T.T. the Bear's. Additional dates include:

Andy Chase wears many hats - label co-owner (Unfiltered), producer (Juliana Hatfield, Tahiti 80), film composer (The Farrelly Brothers Shallow Hal), recording studio owner (Stratosphere Sound with James Iha and Adam Schlesinger) and musician (Ivy, Paco). For Broken Lights, however, Chase for the first time handed over his producer hat to good friend Pedro Resende of the band Tahiti 80.
The project took on an unexpected direction, with Resende coaxing the nuance out of Chase's vocals giving Broken Lights much more of a singer-songwriter sensibility than earlier Brookville efforts. So different, in fact, that Chase considered releasing it under another band name. Eventually it became clear that Broken Lights is merely the next evolution in sound for Brookville.

The disc's sometimes moody, often pensive and experimental quality, in both its lyrics and music, makes Broken Lights a more compelling direction for the band. Standout tracks are 'Great Mistake' the almost-sunny plea of a lover who begs for freedom; the ethereal yet piercing 'Dreaming On', 'Break My Heart,' which features Tim Yehezkely from The Postmarks and an evocative cover of The Go-Betweens guitarist Grant McLennan's 'Haunted House'.

ABOUT BROOKVILLE
Andy Chase released the album Wonderfully Nothing in 2003 as Brookville, and brought the project back for 2006's Life in the Shade.
While Chase is the driving engine of Brookville, past and current collaborators have included James Iha (Smashing Pumpkins) Eric Matthews (Cardinal), Jean-Pierre Ensuque (Autour de Lucie), Jon Skibic (Gigolo Aunts), Danny Wienkauf (They Might Be Giants), producer-programmer Michael Hampton, and many others. Brookville has toured with Goldfrapp and Tahiti 80.
Their latest release, Broken Lights will be released on September 29, 2009 on Chase's own Unfiltered Record via ILG.
