LOS ANGELES (Top40 Charts / It's Alive! Media) - Hey all, While you might know The 88 from their amazing run of song placements, the band is getting a lot of attention today for being the first band to record a track on an iPhone. Yes, you heard me, an iPhone. While on tour with The B52s, The 88 found an iPhone application called FourTrack which allows musicians to record music on their iPhone. When they got home, the band documented this process (https://the88.net/love.htm) and uploaded their track to iTunes. The press response has been overwhelming - not only from a technical side but also because the song is typical The 88: catchy, fun and well written. Airing today is a nationally syndicated feature on the bands recording process for 'Love Is The Thing' from tech reporter Kurt Knutssen aka Kurt The Cyber Guy. Check local ABC, CW and Fox affiliates to catch this live: https://www.ktla.com/news/cyberguy/ Here is what some outlets are saying: https://blogs.usatoday.com/technologylive/2009/06/the-88-records-entire-song-on-their-iphone.html https://new.music.yahoo.com/programs/the-new-now/1299/the-88-records-latest-on-iphone https://www.prosoundnews.com/blog/22892 https://www.itpro.co.uk/blogs/markt/2009/07/02/faster-cheaper-better/ And if you happen to be in Southern California this weekend, come see The 88 w/ The B52s @ the Pacific Amphitheater as part of the Orange County Fair.
