LOS ANGELES (Top40 Charts/ Shakers Management Group) - Shakers Management Group is proud to be handling the United States / Canada Headless Cross Tour for the summer of 2009. The idea for the tour came from Tony Martin (the voice of Black Sabbath '87-'97) when he realized that 2009 was the 20th anniversary of the Headless Cross Album. He immediately called Geoff Nichols, the 25-year veteran keys guru for Black Sabbath and the rest is history.

A poll was done and, not surprisingly, Black Sabbath fans overwhelmingly voiced their support for this tour. So for the second time ever, the Headless Cross album will be performed on the U.S. stage, along with a few hits from Eternal Idol, and originals off of Tony Martin's Scream album.

After much discussion, the band has agreed to perform in much smaller 1,000 to 2,000 seat venues to give their fans an up- close -and -personal experience, thereby giving this 20th anniversary performance true value.

With Tony Martin on vocals from 1987-1997, Black Sabbath released six albums:

* The Eternal Idol (1987)
* Headless Cross (1989)
* TYR (1990)
* Cross Purposes (1994)
* Cross Purposes Live (1995)
* Forbidden (1995)

What fans really like about this time is that the band was still trying to create new music amid a changing musical climate and numerous personnel changes. Martin can write songs and during his reign, the band produced some of the most memorable Sabbath songs that the general fans would idolize. Songs like 'The Shining', 'Headless Cross', 'Devil & Daughter', and 'When Death Calls' became an integral part of the Sabbath catalog and tour setlists.

I also like the "underdog" factor. When Martin took over singing duties, bands like Black Sabbath weren't as popular as the bands of the day (Poison, Guns 'n Roses, Bon Jovi) that had taken over radio and MTV. However the 90's were extremely good years to the Martin team.
Tony Martin and Geoff Nichols are back.... Come see a once in a lifetime 20th anniversary performance of: "The Headless Cross Tour 2009" Please check the following links for updated news and tour dates:
