Reed KD Gets His Priorities Straight: Quit Job, Buy Van, Make Music

Nashville, TN (Top40 Charts/ Shore Fire Media) - Reed KD, the Santa Cruz-based singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist NPR compared to Paul Simon and Elliott Smith, released his third album, 'In Case The Comet Comes,' earlier this month on his Dirty Laundry record label.

Reed KD delves into indie-pop psychedelic territory on the album's hazy, twangy "Space Vacuums." Delicately layered harmonies and echoing slide guitar create an ethereal backdrop for the surreal lyrics: "I hope they/Don't find me/With my dreams intact/They'll take them/Erase them/I can't go back/To living like that."

"Space Vacuums" was written at a crossroads in Reed's life that most can identify with: the pressure of growing older, finding a job and settling down. Reed took a different path. He quit his job, bought a van, started his own record label and set off across the country. He says, "There's no mystery on where my priorities landed me.
