New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Island Def Jam) - The Source Magazine has placed Jay-Z as the most influential power player in the Hip-Hop genre. The hip-hop magazine says Jay-Z tops the list because he's an industry leader and a top businessman, with his ventures with Live Nation ($150 million partnership) and Rocawear, as well as his part-ownership of the New Jersey Nets.

The prestige list honors the movers and shakers of the global Hip-Hop community with referring to power leaders who shift from major record executives to branding and creative communities. The goal was to highlight those who were best able to leverage their products, services and talents in today's new global digital planet.

Other familiar names throughout the list, including Lil Wayne, 50 Cent, Diddy and Barack Obama... who gets an honorable mention for his influence on hip-hop.

The magazine will be available on stands nationwide June 16th, 2009 so be sure to check it out!
