New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Carley Tanchon Official Website) - Her music has been described as raw, rootsy, sultry and serene, and with her debut album, Peridot, Carley Tanchon is ready to show the world what she's made of. With a fresh, raw sound, Peridot (released April 6, 2009) attracts listeners from the first mandolin strike, as Tanchon's soulful voice delivers powerful songs that cross the boundaries between folk and rock.

Tanchon compares Peridot to a journey, and for her that journey began in Chagrin Falls, Ohio, a small suburb of Cleveland, where she grew up and where her parents introduced her to music. After learning to play guitar, Tanchon's long-time friend Adam Tressler introduced her to the world of performing music, and that love of music prompted her study at Berklee.

Toward the end of her time in school, Tanchon began touring the country as the lead female vocalist and rhythm guitarist for the Boston-based Johnny Ray Band. They performed in bars and at clubs, weddings, corporate functions, casinos and the Las Vegas Strip playing a wide range of covers. But more importantly, Tanchon honed her performance chops, something that suited her well when she landed in Nashville in 2008.

And while this album is likely to open many eyes and ears, Tanchon is just excited about the road that lies ahead, literally and figuratively. "It's a journey that isn't always easy," she says. "But one that is worth every minute."
