CHICAGO, IL (Top40 Charts/ Blind Pig Records) - Blind Pig Records announces a June 2nd release date for a new CD recording entitled Right Here Right Now by Big James and the Chicago Playboys.

"Big James" Montgomery is a young man with a solid pedigree in the world of Rhythm & Blues. He played with Little Milton, Albert King, and Buddy Guy before becoming the trombonist and lead vocalist with the Chicago Playboys, the Windy City's premier R&B ensemble.

The band is a displined juggernaut of hard-hitting blues, R&B, soul and funk that is drawing comparisons to James Brown's former rhythm-intensive backing band. They've backed Buddy Guy, Eric Clapton, and Otis Rush, and more recently, have been turning heads by tearing up packed houses at home and overseas.

They've won a number Critic's Poll awards from Living Blues magazine, garnered multiple Blues Music Award nominations, and just recently won the 2008 Prix Blues from the Academie du Jazz in Paris.

Right Here Right Now is a great introduction to the Playboys' unique-horn-driven sound. It features eight original compositions as well as covers of Bobby Bland, Tyrone Davis, and the O'Jays, all highlighted by precisely-executed horn arrangements and dynamic, soulful musicianship.
